YoungLives

YoungLives started in 1991 in California and is a specialty branch ministry of Young Life which has been around for over 75 years. There are seven YoungLives divisions across the US and four international divisions. In North Carolina, there are currently eight counties with active YoungLives chapters, and that number is continuing to grow. Our mission is to come alongside adolescent parents and provide them with peer relationships, mentoring, resources, and a chance to still be a kid. We see these young moms as the women and mothers God designed them to be, and humbly pray we can display the unconditional love of Jesus in hopes of making generational change in their lives and communities.

YoungLives in Durham and Orange County

Young Life has been in Durham and Orange County for over 50 years, but our area YoungLives ministry just started in August 2023. We have spent the past year working to build a team of volunteer mentors, childcare workers, meal providers, and translators. The Lord has been so faithful in providing an abundance of support from local churches, community organizations, and individuals who share our heart for young parents and their children. We launched direct ministry in January of 2024, and have grown from knowing zero moms to having 8-10 moms and babies consistently showing up to our events. At Southern Durham High School we've In July we took two moms, one baby, and three mentors to Carolina Point for a week-long camp which was incredible. As we continue to meet more teen mom friends, make more connections, and grow our ministry we are excited for a monthly rhythm of Club and Campaigners to begin. Continue to check back here for more updates on our growing ministry or sign up below to receive our monthly newsletter updates. We cannot wait to see the way the Lord continues to grow YoungLives in our area!
